All classes with a listed instructor are automatically recorded. Listed instructors (from the Student Information System) will be emailed at the start of every semester as a reminder to review and update their Course Capture settings if desired. Secondary sections, such as discussions or labs, do not inherit the lecture's Course Capture setting. If your GSIs are the listed instructor of the secondary section, they will get their own email as a reminder to review and update their Course Capture settings.
Stop recording for a full course, current semester, or all future semester:
If you do not wish to be recorded, you may wish to opt out of the service. There are options to opt out for individual courses, all courses in the same semester, or for all future semesters. You will be able to opt in again if you change your mind. Log into Course Capture to review and update your Course Capture settings (including opting in or out).

Stop recording for a selected days:
Please send an email to coursecapture@berkeley.edu with at least 2 business days advance notice. This is useful for planned lectures that have a guest speaker that does not want to be recorded or for an exam day that you do not wish to be recorded.
Pause recording while in the classroom:
If you were not able to notify us in time, you can still pause the recording at the classroom touch panel. This could also be useful if there are breaks in the lecture that you do not want to record. You can pause and resume recording at anytime during the class session.
