Course Evaluations
Overview
About Course Evaluations
Course Evaluations at Berkeley offers departments the opportunity to coordinate course evaluations through a customizable online system with easy management and reporting. This campus-provided common-good service is managed by RTL and is available to departments who have opted into the service.
Course Evaluations allows for the automation and simplification of final semester reviews for instructors and allows students to access their evaluations forms at their convenience.
The reporting of results is automated and helps departments save resources by freeing up staff time from evaluation creation and reporting tasks. Appropriate administrative and supervisory staff are notified of evaluation results in addition to instructors. Departments are able to access student responses through a variety of different reports.

Course Evaluations Accessibility
RTL Commons strives to provide accessible services and web-based tools. We partner with campus accessibility teams to review both internally developed and purchased solutions.
Course Evaluations utilize a third-party resource maintained by eXplorance. As of June 2020, several areas of the course evaluations platform, Blue, have been certified WCAG 2.1 (Level AA) compliant including Question Personalization, Form Fillout, Subject Management, and Reports. Please note that PDF versions of reports are not WCAG 2.1 compliant, but wherever a PDF report is available an HTML WCAG 2.1 compliant report is also available.
January 24th, 2017: In preparation for a software upgrade, the OEC team reviewed the service with the Web Access team who made recommendations which will be addressed internally and shared with the vendor in an effort to improve the the service for all users.
August 22, 2022: The Web Access team reviewed the service again and tested the latest version of the course evaluations platform (Blue 8). The vendor is in the process of updating areas of the tool as recommended by the web access report.
