Starting Spring 2026, Course Capture has return to an opt-in model. This means instructors must take action to opt in their courses in order for these courses to be scheduled for recording. All instructors teaching in a Course Capture eligible room will be emailed at least 2 weeks prior to instruction starts. For courses with mutliple instructors, all instructors must opt-in.
Instructors can view and change their Course Capture settings by logging in from the Course Capture Home Page. Any changes only affects future recordings and It can take up to 2 hours for changes to take effect, so please plan ahead.
Home Page Explained
Course Table
The instructor's home page includes a table of courses that are eligible for Course Capture. This table will show the current Course Capture status for each course.
- Not Scheduled = Course Capture is currently NOT recording this course. If all instructors have opted-in, the course may be pending scheduling. Scheduling can take up to 2 hours. Status will update to "Scheduled" once scheduling is completed.
- Partial Opt-in = Course Capture is NOT recording this course. At least one instructor has opted in. Course Capture is waiting for all instructors to opt in.
- Scheduled = Course Capture IS recording this course.
To opt into course capture, please click the course name and review your courses's Course Capture setting. Please see Course Page Explained for more information.
The home page also includes a table of courses which do not qualify for Course Capture. These are courses that are not meeting in a Course Capture enabled room. This table is for your information only.
Future Course options
If you always want to record with Course Capture, you can select the option to pre-approve all future courses. If you are added to any courses after this semester, you'll automatically be opted in with the default settings to "Publish to My Media only".
Email options
Check this option if you do not want to recieve further email from Course Capture this semester. If you are opted into any courses this semester or select to pre-approve future semesters, this option is not available as Course Capture admins may need to contact you.
