Recommended Course Capture Options based on desired workflows
There are multiple selections to make during the Course Capture sign-up process. This article lists common use cases to help you decide which settings to pick. For a definition of what each setting does, please visit Course Capture Options Explained
To help you decide on what workflow will work best for your course, we'll be providing different representations of a decision tree and will be asking you the following questions.
Who do you plan to share recordings with and who will be doing the sharing? Would you like your GSIs to be able to share recordings? Would you like your GSIs to be able to edit recordings?

- Admin Proxy should be toggled on. If GSI is not listed as Admin Proxy, please work with your departmental scheduler to add them in Campus Solutions. (It can take 48 hours for the data to change to take effect). Admin Proxies will be able to publish recordings in any bCourses site.
- How to share recordings with selected students
- I plan to share Course Capture videos with all my students and I would like GSIs to help me review, share, and edit the recordings.

- Admin Proxy should be toggled on. If GSI is not listed as Admin Proxy, please work with your departmental scheduler to add them in Campus Solutions. (It can take 48 hours for the data to change to take effect). Admin Proxies will be able to publish recordings to any bCourses site.
- How to publish recordings to the Media Gallery to share with all students
- I would like my Course Capture videos to automatically publish to the Media Gallery without any intervention.
- Publishing option: “GSI/TA Moderation”
- Admin Proxy can be either On or Off. Choose ON if you would like the GSI to be able to edit and publish recordings (to any bCourses site). Choose OFF if you do not want them to have editing/publishing permissions.
- This option requires Course Capture staff to manually change this setting. Please choose the above settings and make sure your course is fully approved by all instructors and your bCourses site has been created. Once recordings are scheduled (you will get a confirmation email), please email coursecapture@berkeley.edu(link sends e-mail) with your request. We are unable to fulfill the request until all instructors have signed up and a bCourses site has been created.
- I only want to share recordings with my GSIs and would like them to have edit and publish access to my Course Capture videos.
- Your GSIs will be able to edit and publish. Please communicate with your GSIs that you do not want them to edit or share.
- Publishing option: “Instructor Moderation”
- Admin Proxy should be toggled On. If GSI is not listed in Admin Proxy, please work with your departmental scheduler to add them in Campus Solutions. (It can take 48 hours to update). Admin Proxies will be able to publish recordings to any bCourses site.
- GSIs will find Course Capture recordings in their My Media
- I only want to share Course Capture recordings with my GSI but do not want to give them edit access.
- GSI will be able to publish recordings to bCourses. Please communicate with your GSI if you do not want them to share.

- Admin Proxy should be toggled Off
- GSIs will find Course Capture recordings in the Pending tab of the Media Gallery
