For Students
The CBTF is a secure, proctored facility where you take online exams and quizzes for your course using dedicated computers. This page gives you an overview of how the CBTF works. Use the links below to find step-by-step guides, policies, and reservation instructions.
Important: CBTF proctors are not affiliated with your course. They cannot answer questions about exam content, adjust time limits, or grant exceptions for lateness or missed reservations. For any exam-related questions, contact your instructor or course staff directly.
How the CBTF Works
Your instructor sets a multi-day exam window (typically 1–3 days) during which you self-schedule your own timeslot using PrairieTest. You can choose any available slot within that window. Preferred times may fill up quickly, so reserve early.
|
PrairieTest The scheduling platform. This is where you make, change, or cancel your exam reservation. Your instructor will let you know when reservations open for each exam. At the CBTF, PrairieTest also launches your exam once a proctor starts your session. |
PrairieLearn The exam platform. This is where your quiz, midterm, or final exam content lives. During your exam session, PrairieTest will link you to PrairieLearn automatically. Depending on your instructor's settings, you may also be able to review your scores and past assessments in PrairieLearn after the exam. |
