DataHub is Berkeley’s campus-wide platform that supports tools like Jupyter Notebooks, RStudio, and VSCode, all accessible right from your browser. It’s used in 100+ courses across 30+ departments to support hands-on learning in data science, engineering, and more.

Whether you’re brand new or already using it, drop by these open office hours to get help, explore new features, or talk through ideas.

New to DataHub? We can walk you through:

  • Setting up your course environment
  • Sharing notebooks from GitHub
  • Troubleshooting student issues
  • Creating accessible materials

Picture of the facilitator, Balaji Alwar Balaji Alwar is the DataHub Service Lead and works at the Research, Teaching, and Learning (RTL) and Data Science Undergraduate Studies to design and scale the Berkeley DataHub, a service that provides interactive computing environments to educators and students across campus using open-source tools in the Jupyter ecosystem and beyond. Previously, he was a product lead for a research project focused on upskilling at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is passionate about using technology for public goods that offer immersive and equitable learning experiences.
