For Fall 2025, all classes meeting in a Course Capture eligible room will be recorded unless the instructor chooses to opt out of the service or if there are no instructors listed for the class in the Student Information System.
Instructors can view and change their Course Capture settings by logging in from the Course Capture Home Page. Any changes only affects future recordings and It can take up to 12 hours for changes to take effect, so please plan ahead.
Opting Out
- How to Opt Out
- Options to stop recording with Course Capture (instead of opting out)
- Secondary sections such as discussions or labs are treated individually and usually has the GSI listed as the instructor. GSIs will need to opt-out of these secondary sections on their own following the same steps as faculty in the How to Opt Out knowledge article.
- If you opted out after the semester start or wish to delete prior recordings, please contact coursecapture@berkeley.edu.
Collaborators
Collaborators are given co-editing and co-publishing privileges to Course Capture recordings. Users with the Admin Proxy (APRX) role in SIS Campus Solution are automatically given collaborator status, but instructors are able to remove them within their Course Capture setting. APRX roles are typically given to GSIs or staff coordinators, but your department may follow different practices.

Most rooms are limited to the "Camera without Operator" setting. Audio-only recording is not available. For those looking for a Projector+Audio only option, cameras can be blocked using the touch panel in the room
