Assessments in an AI World

Join this hands-on workshop to explore options for redesigning assessments in light of ChatGPT and other generative AI tools. To maximize the interactivity and benefit of this workshop, we request that participants bring an assessment from Fall '23 or Spring '24. We'll start with an overview of diverse strategies and key principles Then, in smaller groups, attendees will describe and/or share materials for their assessments. The workshop facilitators and peers will offer feedback focusing on alignment with learning objectives, accessibility implications, instructor workload, and ethical considerations.

Everyone in the UC Berkeley instructional community is welcome to join the workshop!

This session will be held in person in 117 Dwinelle Hall (Academic Innovation Studio). Light snacks will be served. We kindly request that you only register for the event if you can attend, as the capacity of the venue is limited to ~28 participants.
