The Pedagogy Improv series invites you to explore real-time teaching strategies through interactive, hands-on scenarios. Each session features live demonstrations from faculty and opportunities to practice responsive, in-the-moment approaches to common classroom challenges. Sign up for the second session on Assessment Pivots.
This is the first session in the two-part series, focused on real-time teaching pivots. This interactive session features a panel of instructors who will demonstrate "on-the-fly" teaching pivots in response to various learning environments and contexts. Following the pedagogy improv demonstration, participants will be invited to engage in their improv teaching scenarios, exploring challenges and opportunities that arise in both large and small enrollment courses. These scenarios will encourage participants to consider how to deepen students’ engagement with content, facilitate student-led discussions, or address complex teaching issues such as bias in the classroom or co-creating knowledge with students, ultimately adding new strategies to your teaching toolkit. Come play pedagogy improv with us and learn ways to confidently navigate unforeseen moments and enhance your instructional flexibility!
