Who We Are

Research, Teaching, and Learning Services (RTL) is composed of several teams providing support for instructors and researchers on the UC Berkeley campus. Each area provides leadership in their area of expertise and coordinated work including consultation, resources, tools, and projects across RTL and the broader campus community.

Academic Innovation Studio

The Academic Innovation Studio (AIS) brings together faculty, researchers, graduate students, and service providers to inspire and support experimentation, connect people, and share ideas. Part of the Division of the Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education, the AIS serves instructors and researchers across the entire campus community.

Center for Teaching and Learning 

The Center for Teaching and Learning partners with faculty to inspire, enrich, and innovate Berkeley’s collective practice and pursuit of teaching excellence. In pursuing this mission, we provide pedagogical and assessment expertise from course to curriculum.

Digital Learning Services

Digital Learning Services (DLS) was formed in support of the Digital Learning Initiative and the campus’s emerging Digital Learning Strategy. DLS is home to two teams, who provide services and consultations to faculty in support of their pursuit of effective teaching and learning at Berkeley for face-to-face, blended and fully online courses.  Learning Environments & Tools (formerly ETS's Teaching and Learning Services) provides service management, support and consultations for teaching and learning technologies, including bCourses, Online Evaluations of Courses, Clickers, and Ally.  Instructional Design & Media services include digital learning design, online program design, online learning strategies, and digital content development. To learn more about the unit visit their website for details of who they are and what they do at Berkeley.

KALX Radio logo

KALX Radio

KALX FM broadcasts freeform radio to the SF Bay Area at 90.7 FM and to the world on the internet. You can hear music, news, Cal sports and informational programming produced by UC Berkeley students and community volunteers. KALX provides students with experiential learning, leadership and discovery opportunities, and the ability to produce and broadcast high-quality, creative and diverse programming not heard elsewhere on the radio.

Visit RTL Administrative Offices

Once you arrive: 

  • Look for the elevator lobby in the multi-floor section building 
  • Take the elevator to the 4th floor
  • Upon exiting the elevator, look for the door to the right
  • Ring the doorbell on the door frame   

On Foot (from Campus)

  • Go through Sather Gate/Sproul Plaza and head south on Telegraph (towards Oakland) 
  • 2850 will be on the right side of Telegraph between Oregon and Russell

Bicycle (from campus)

  • Recommended path to 2850 is to take Dana southbound from Bancroft until Oregon.

  • Bike parking available in covered area facing Telegraph 

Parking 

  • Hourly parking is available directly behind the building via Oregon. Current parking rate is $7/hour
  • Meters are available along Telegraph
  • Guests may also park for free along Oregon, Russell or Ellsworth. 2 hour max parking. Follow all posted signs, and please don't block driveways
