bCourses is Berkeley's official campus Learning Management System (LMS), using the open-source Canvas platform. This tool provides a resource for instructors and students to enrich the teaching and learning experience. bCourses is integrated with additional academic technology tools.

Student Response Systems, also known as “clickers,” “audience response systems,” or "personal response systems" enable instructors to pose questions to students and immediately collect and view the responses of the entire class.

Peerceptiv provides peer review functionality for multiple different assignment types, including peer assessments on assignment submissions, team member evaluations for group projects, live presentation assessments, and more.

Online Discussions allow students to participate in an asynchronous conversation with a group or the entire class. These include bCourses built-in discussion tool and integrated platform Ed Discussion.

Kaltura is a web-based video management platform that allows for the upload, editing, managing and sharing of videos and other media. Kaltura can be accessed from bCourses (Canvas).

Gradescope is a suite of tools designed to accommodate a common grading workflow. The software can reveal valuable statistics about students work, and provide a path for students to request re-grades of questions.

Course Evaluations at Berkeley offers departments the opportunity to coordinate course evaluations through a customizable online system with easy management and reporting. This campus-provided common-good service is managed by RTL and is available to departments who have opted into the service.

Course Design Tools provide instructors with resources to develop pedagogically sound remote courses. This service includes the Core Template which uses bCourses’ built-in course construction and management tools including Pages, Modules, Discussions, Assignments, and Quizzes. The Core Template offers a consistent organization founded in best practices in remote instruction pedagogy that ensures students can easily access materials and engage with the course without the need for instructors to learn any additional tools.

Ally is a set of tools within bCourses that helps make course content more accessible and provides instructors with visual indicators gauging the accessibility of source files and assigns an accessibility score to each uploaded file.

Academic Integrity services at Berkeley provide students and instructors with tools that integrate with bCourses Assignments to promote compliance with Berkeley's Honor Code. These opt-in tools are enabled through bCourses, allowing Instructors and GSIs to review Assignment submissions for originality.
