Creating Accessible bCourses Pages

August 20, 2026 – 2:00 p.m.

Location: This is an online event. Register to receive the Zoom link and calendar invitation.
Intended Audience: Faculty, Instructors, Graduate Student Instructors, Academic Support Staff

This workshop walks you step by step through how to create accessible bCourses Pages. Using a practice page in bCourses, you will learn how to build proper heading structures, write effective alt text, create descriptive links, and format lists correctly—all within the Canvas Rich Content Editor (RCE). We'll also demonstrate the Ally Accessibility Checker as a tool for identifying and resolving issues, and introduce the Core Template, a ready-made resource with accessibility already built into its page structure.

You'll leave with practical skills you can apply immediately to your own course pages, and with resources for going further.

This session will run for 45 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes reserved for questions.
