Learn how to use iClicker and Poll Everywhere to create more engaging and interactive classes at UC Berkeley. This workshop is designed for instructors and GSIs who are new to student response systems or would like a refresher on best practices.
We'll cover:
- Choosing between iClicker and Poll Everywhere based on your teaching goals
- Setting up your course and connecting with bCourses
- Creating polls, quizzes, and attendance activities
- Running live polling during class
- Exporting grades to the bCourses Gradebook
- Best practices for increasing student participation and minimizing technical issues
- Available campus resources and support
By the end of the session, you'll be ready to confidently use student response systems to promote active learning in lectures, discussions, and labs.
No prior experience required!
This session will run for 45 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes reserved for questions.

Facilitator:
Lisha Bornilla (she/her) is the Learning Tools Service Lead for student response systems at Berkeley’s Research, Teaching, and Learning division. She holds a Master of Education in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology from Harvard, with prior experience spanning multiple industries in tech consulting, eCommerce, and telco before pivoting full time to education. She specializes in designing pedagogical frameworks for technology-driven learning experiences.
