New bCourses Feature: Scheduled Feedback

February 10, 2026

The bCourses Gradebook now supports scheduling grades and feedback releases. Instructors can preconfigure the automatic release of grades and comments (together or separately) for individual assignments.

With this new feature, instructors can plan exactly when students see their grades and comments, and if this happens concurrently or on separate schedules. This feature provides instructors with greater flexibility and control over feedback timing, allowing them to align the release of rubric scores and comments with grading workflows, review sessions, or instructional pacing. This process helps ensure students receive feedback when it is most meaningful and actionable.

How does Scheduled Feedback work?

With this update, graders can schedule when feedback becomes visible to students directly from the Gradebook’s existing Grade Posting Policy section for each assignment.

  1. Open your course Gradebook and navigate to a specific assignment. Select the options icon in the assignment’s Gradebook column, then select the “Grade Posting Policy” option.

  2. In  the right-side panel, select the “Manually” post grades option.
     "Automatically" or "Manually" (selected).
  3. Check the box for “Schedule Release Dates.”
  4. Under “Release Options,” decide if you want to release grades and comments together, or if you would like to have grades and comments released on separate schedules.
  5. Enter the dates and times for your release schedule(s).

  6. Select “Save” at the bottom of the page.

The system will automatically release feedback when your chosen time arrives.
